Sodium Working Group Releases “Sodium Reduction Strategy for Canada”

The Sodium Working Group, a cooperative venture between Health Canada, leading nutrition-oriented organizations, industry and academia, released its report, “A Sodium Reduction Strategy for Canada”, July 29, 2010. Our own Katherine Gray-Donald served on this group, representing CSNS originally, and then CNS. You can find a summary of the report, and a link to the full text, at http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/nutrition/sodium/strateg/index-eng.php.

Given the prevalence of sodium as an additive to food, this is a very important report for Canadians. We encourage you to inform yourself on this initiative by reading the report.
