Membership Categories

CNS offers Memberships in the following Categories:

Active Membership:

Any individual who is a graduate of a post-secondary institution with a degree or diploma in a nutrition-related discipline and is employed in nutrition or a related field in government, health care, research or education may join CNS as an Active member.

Membership Fee:

$115.00 + $5.75 GST = $120.75 (if your province or territory of residence is PE/QC/MB/SK/AB/NU/NT/YK), or $115.00 + $14.95 HST = $129.95 (if your province of residence is NB/NL/ON), or
$115.00 + $17.25 HST = $132.25 (if your province of residence is NS), or
$115.00 + $13.80 HST = $128.80 (if your province of residence is BC)

If you are registering as a new CNS Active member, please identify one CNS member who will support your membership. If unable to name a sponsor, CNS will help you find one.

How to join?

You can either conveniently join CNS online by using our secure server, or you can join by mail/fax. To do so, simply download our printable application form, and mail your completed application to the address indicated on the form.

Associate Membership:

Any individual who is a member of a provincially regulated health care profession and is not actively engaged in nutrition in his/her employment may join CNS as an Associate member.

Membership Fee:

$115.00 + $5.75 GST = $120.75 (if your province or territory of residence is PE/QC/MB/SK/AB/NU/NT/YK), or
$115.00 + $14.95 HST = $129.95 (if your province of residence is NB/NL/ON), or
$115.00 + $17.25 HST = $132.25 (if your province of residence is NS), or
$115.00 + $13.80 HST = $128.80 (if your province of residence is BC)

If you are registering as a new CNS Associate member, please identify one CNS member who will support your membership. If unable to name a sponsor, CNS will help you find one.

How to join?

Student Membership:

Any individual who is enrolled in, and carrying at least a fifty percent (50%) course load for an under–graduate, graduate or post-graduate program of nutritionally-oriented study may join CNS as a Student member.

Membership Fee:

$35.00 + $1.75 GST = $36.75 (if your province or territory of residence is PE/QC/MB/SK/AB/NU/NT/YK), or
$35.00 + $4.55 HST = $39.55 (if your province of residence is NB/NL/ON), or
$35.00 + $5.25 HST = $40.25 (if your province of residence is NS), or
$35.00 + $4.20 HST = $39.20 (if your province of residence is BC)

If you are registering as a CNS Student member, please fax a copy of proof of enrollment (i.e. student identification) to the CNS office at 416-491-1670 and identify an individual (i.e. program or academic advisor) who will confirm your student status.

Note: potential members in all categories are asked to support the aims and objectives of the Society. In addition, all potential Active and Industry members are asked to sign and abide by the Society’s conflict of interest policy.
