This webinar will examine how researchers (and other evidence-creators) can help ensure their findings don't just sit on a shelf. We'll examine the concept and history of knowledge mobilization – a discipline focused on creating real-world impact from knowledge. We'll examine the barriers and facilitators to knowledge-use, and discuss some of the methods and strategies you can use to help bridge the gap between knowledge and action. We will discuss the importance of engagement, how to frame messages, and examine some specific knowledge mobilization products.

About the Speaker
Dr. Travis Sztainert is a Knowledge Broker at GREO, a not-for-profit, intermediary Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) organization. In his current role, Travis uses his knowledge and experience to provide research expertise and KTE advice to diverse stakeholder groups. He also develops syntheses of knowledge evidence, literature, tools, and other resources for GREO. Travis has co-developed and instructs the Knowledge Mobilization Certificate offered through the University of Guelph's Community Engaged Scholarship Institute. He has also developed KTE training and course material for the Canadian Psychological Association and various not-for-profit organizations. Travis holds a PhD in Psychology from Carleton University and a Knowledge Translation Professional Certificate from SickKids Learning Institute.
