Analysis of routinely-collected digital health data including electronic medical records, surveys, and administrative data, have great potential for research. They can be used to address a broad range of topics, identifying for example, what services are needed, population groups facing particular vulnerability or risk, and emerging challenges.  Our speakers are key research leads for large data currently available and will provide an overview of the possibilities for the Canadian health research community.  This webinar is being sponsored by the Cardiometabolic Research Network, an emerging group focused on improved prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular conditions in Canada.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, attendees will:

  1. Be more aware of two major data resources available to health researchers in Canada
  2. Describe strengths and limitations of the data and the major steps in getting data access
  3. Evaluate the potential usefulness of the data sets for their research interests
